Sea Otters Are Clever

"Apart from primates, the Sea Otter is a greater user of tools than any other mammal. When it dives for food, it also brings up a small rock. It then floats on its back, places the rock on its chest, and cracks the shell against it. Abalone, sea urchins, crabs, mussels, and fish - as much as 15 pounds per day - are its chief foods." (Excerpt from the book, The Audubon Society Nature Guides: Pacific Coast," by Bayard H. McConnaughey and Evelyn McConnaughey, published by Alfred A. Knopf, Inc., 1992, pg. 409)
