In Draft Report Released in March 2007, US Gov't Rates Coastal Waters as Fair to Poor
- "We [the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency] are pleased to announce the draft National Coastal Condition Report III. The National Coastal Condition Report III describes the ecological and environmental conditions in U.S. coastal waters... Like the first Report released in 2001, and the second in 2005, this report rates the overall condition of U.S. coastal waters as fair to poor, varying from region to region." - excerpt from this U.S. Environmental Protection Agency web page. If you would like to submit comments on the draft Report, you can do so by going to http://www.regulations.gov and do a search using the EPA docket ID of "EPA-HQ-OW-2007-0019. Comments are due by May 8, 2007.
