County Environmental Health Services has received several complaints about illnesses experienced from surfing or swimming during a red tide event. Complaints include; respiratory problems, skin rashes, loss of taste or smell, eye irritation, gastro-intestinal upsets, and lethargy. Red tide affects people in much the same way as allegies; some people have problems with it but most show no affect.
