Fish Found to be Effective at Carbon Capture and Storage

Two recent studies highlight the ability of fish to capture and store carbon dioxide from the upper levels of the ocean. Phytoplankton directly absorb "billions of tons of carbon dioxide each year", but their proximity to the surface result in the majority of that carbon getting re-released back into the atmosphere - except when deep sea fish eat that phytoplankton (or eat the fish that eat phytoplankton), and store that carbon deep in the ocean.
