Saharan Dust Reduces Likelihood of Tropical Storm

Dust from the Sahara Desert frequently blows across the Atlantic during summer months, leaving an orange/red residue on cars, trees, and buildings in the Caribbean and Southeastern US. Though some consider this a nuisance, a new study finds that Saharan dust actually decreases the likelihood of a tropical depression or hurricane. Learn more here.
