Impacts of Oil Spills Aren't Just Ecological

"Technological accidents and natural disasters can directly impact both the ecological and human aspects of an affected area. Indirect impacts are also possible. We define human dimensions impacts as all impacts that are not ecological. The human dimensions of spills include health, social, economic, use, and cultural impacts to a wide range of entities at multiple scales, including individuals, families, businesses, communities, institutions, and government." - Excerpt from Social and Environmental Research Institute.
