Boats and Jet Skis Killing FL Manatees
- Florida manatee deaths rose from 273 in 2000 to 325 in 2001. Of the 325 manatee deaths in Florida last year, 81 were caused by boats and jet skis. There are only around 3,000 of the endangered Florida manatees left. (Source: Florida Marine Research Institute)
