Little Public Beach Access in MA and ME - The Bad and Rad from Surfrider's State of the Beach 2002
- Massachusetts and Maine are the only states where the dry beach is not open to the public, severely limiting public beach access. In Maine, only 7 percent of the shoreline is publicly owned.
