Jet Skis and Speed Boats Are Decimating Florida Manatees
- During the 2002 calendar year, a record 95 manatees were killed (and many more injured) in Florida from collisions with jetskis and speed boats. The total manatee population is only around 3,000. Source: Miami Herald newspaper.
