Texas Beach Homes Where They Should Not Be
- "According to a recent Texas General Land Office report to Attorney General John Cornyn, there are currently 102 houses "100% on public beach." The Texas Open Beaches Act prohibits "private structures on public beach." That is, between the vegetation line and the water line. That beach area is reserved as a public beach easement for use of all citizens." - excerpt from Surfrider Foundation's State of the Beach 2003 report at http://www.beach.com/stateofthebeach/8-perspectives/texas.asp
