Logging Plans Bad for Oregon Coastal Water Quality

"We have concerns about the impacts from logging. The plan would increase erosion and sediment delivery in six of the watersheds in the forest that have existing water quality problems [and are] listed as impaired waters." - excerpt from Dave Powers, an EPA Region 10 official who worked on the review of the huge, "salvage" logging project for the Siskiyou National Forest in the coastal mountain range in southwest Oregon. This logging project will affect coastal water quality due to expected, massive sediment runoff. More info at http://www.gristmagazine.com/muck/muck022604.asp?source=daily
