Tsunamis
- "A tsunami is a series of very long waves triggered by a disturbance at the seafloor that displaces water -- usually an earthquake, but sometimes an underwater landslide or a volcanic eruption. These waves move across the ocean at about the speed of a jet airplane and can deliver devastating energy to the coasts they strike." - excerpt from the Atlas of Hawai'i, Third Edition, University of Hawaii Press, 1998, pg. 76.
