San Diego's Point Loma Treatment Plant Is Last Big Holdout Dumping Sewage into Coastal Waters
- With Morro Bay finalizing its plan to go from primary to tertiary treatment by 2014, Point Loma recently made news as the "last state holdout on sewage treatment law." In fact, of more than 16,000 sewage agencies nationally, only 30-plus facilities are exempt from secondary treatment standards -- and Point Loma discharges more sewage than all of the other agencies combined. -- excerpt from this Voice of San Diego article.
