Ending Sewage Discharges into the Ocean in South Florida
- "The city [Boca Raton, FL] plans to end ocean discharges by 2011, far sooner than its counterparts to the south. The city is doubling the capacity of its sewage treatment plant, constructing a 5-million-gallon tank off Spanish River Drive and planning a pipeline to carry the water to golf courses, which will pay for the water, sparing residential customers from a rate increase." - excerpt from this WaterWorld.com article.
