Storm Drain
From Beachapedia
A storm drain is part of a conveyance system designed to drain excess rain and other surface water away from paved streets, parking lots, sidewalks, and roofs. They are fed by street gutters and curb drains on most highways, freeways and other major roads, as well as in towns which experience heavy rainfall. As explained in Sewer Systems and Sewage Treatment, storm drain flow is not typically treated to remove pollutants before it enters a receiving water body (river, lake or ocean).
