Channel through a Barrier Beach, which is characterized by swift currents that can interrupt the littoral drift of sand.

In May 2014 former Surfrider Foundation summer intern Jamie Pratt made a presentation California Inlets: A Coastal Management “No Man’s Land” at the H2O (Headwaters to Ocean) conference in San Diego, California.
