Krakatoa Tsunami Traveled Around the World

"[Krakatoa] was a volcanic island which simply blew up when the volcano erupted [in 1883]. All together 36,380 people were killed. But the explosion also created a tsunami so large that it traveled all the way around the world. It's effects were measured as far away as the English Channel." - excerpt from the book, The Sea, published by the California State Dept. of Education, 1967, pg. 92
