Plastics: The Scourge of Beaches Everywhere

"The St Kilda archipelago in the Outer Hebrides is a World Heritage site and home to a million seabirds. But its windswept isolation in the north Atlantic is no protection from global garbage. Collecting trash from St Kilda's only beach, staff from the National Trust of Scotland found discarded plastic containers that once held Brazilian mustard, Japanese detergent, Dutch yoghurt and French shower gel." - excerpt from the Planet Ark article.
