- "Florida environmentalists and manatee protection advocates are questioning the governor's [Jeb Bush] appointment of a prominent Miami development lobbyist and top political fundraiser to the state's wildlife commission, the agency which makes the final decisions on manatee protection regulations. The decision gives the unpaid commission seat to a man whose paying job is with a firm now lobbying for a suspension of manatee protection regulations in order to allow more motor boats at a Miami condominium development where the average per-unit price is $1 million reports the Miami Herald, 9/12."
