Groins at the Beach Cause Lots of Problems
- "Usually, groins cause more problems than they cure. They aren't much to look at and they make long walks along an unobstructed beach a thing of the past. On beaches with any kind of surf, they pose a potentially serious hazard to swimmers. And they leave property owners downdrift bereft of sand."
