The Circular Life Cycle of Florida Turtles

"In Florida during late summer and early fall, millions of half-dollar sized sea turtle hatchlings will emerge from 40,000 to 80,000 nests laid on the dry sand of the beach. They will scramble down the beach to catch the outgoing surf. They will wander the Atlantic and the Gulf of Mexico, following oceanic currents for the next 20-30 years, before returning to the same nesting beach as mature adults." - excerpt from Surfrider Foundation's STATE OF THE BEACH 2005 report at: http://www.surfrider.org/stateofthebeach/07-ps/body.asp?sub=ph
