Yielding to the Inevitable on Cape Cod

"Time is running out for longtime tenants of five cottages owned by the Cape Cod National Seashore on eroding North Beach Island. The Seashore is giving them until Sept. 15 to remove personal belongings from the cottages in anticipation of their demolition or removal this fall. The cottages are among 11 clustered on the barrier beach remnant across from the Chatham Fish Pier. "If we have some pretty good storms this winter, we'll see (the cottages) washing around Pleasant Bay or Strong Island," Seashore Superintendent George Price said about the reason for the decision." - excerpts from article in the Cape Cod Times.
