Adaptation Makes More Sense Than Defense

"Instead of building right on the beach or erecting sea walls, adaptation calls for living shorelines that dampen storm surge, for instance by the presence of dunes, salt marshes and oyster reefs. Additionally, the state can identify opportunities to protect existing coastal marshes and expand the use of natural filters, such as green infrastructure." - excerpt from commentary by Don Strait in the Hartford Courant.
