Purple Sea Slugs, Red Tuna Crabs and Blue Velella Velella - Oh My!
- "A giant purple blob from the sea — a slug — is invading East Bay beaches and waterways this summer, and some experts say it may be caused by warmer temperatures near coastal waters." "Thousands of small crabs native to the waters off Baja California have washed up on beaches in Orange and San Diego counties, coating the sand in a spiky layer of red." - excerpts from SFGate article and KTLA news report. And don't forget the blue Velella Velella.
